I thought tomorrow would come swiftly, but I woke up in a sweat in the murky darkness.
The clock's chimes were still ringing from the call of midnight as I detected a disturbing stench about the room.
I peered out from under the covers, terrified of what I might discover...
And then I heard a slow, gurgling sound which curdled my blood.
And finally I saw it!
The dreaded beast was standing tall at my bedpost, the Zig-Zag Bird of Altamonte, staring in my direction!
